Casa Montaldo

The house

Formerly a farmhouse, the building has been completely restored and remodeled by the current owners over the course of the last few years. Only high-quality materials have been used, including, for example, travertine floor and wall tiles throughout the lower floor of the house and for the terraces outside.

We have taken great care to preserve the traditional Italian style of the original home and combine it with modern amenities and technical standards. Our guests will find all the comforts they expect to find in an appealing atmosphere that lets them enjoy the Italian way of life.

Our holiday home is now equipped with completely new, tasteful furnishings. We are proud of the results and happy to offer our holiday accommodation for rent for the first time in 2016.

Total living space is 90 sq meters on two floors.

Ground Floor:

Location

Spigno Monferrato, the nearest small town, is situated on the border to Liguria.

  • Montaldo is a hamlet 4 km from Spigno Monferrato, accessible via a pretty, secondary road.
  • The house is located (elev. ca. 400 m) above a broad green valley with views to the Maritime Alps.
  • There are only a few neighboring properties.
  • Montaldo with a church and a restaurant with bar is within walking distance (ca. 400 m)

Shopping:

  • In Spigno: two grocery stores, a bakery, a butcher’s shop, a pharmacy, and a small farmer’s market every Wednesday
  • In Acqui Terme or Cairo Montenotte (both ca. 25 km away): pedestrianized shopping areas, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors, supermarkets and large, typical Italian farmer’s markets
  • This is a great base from which to explore the area.

The climate

  • In spring and early fall it is usually pleasantly warm during the day, but after sundown it cools off quickly
  • Summers are long, dry, and very warm to hot, but the nights are pleasantly cool.
